In his construction projects, architect Craig Jarvis always aims to create sustainable, affordable, off-grid solutions that deliver healthy living environments. When designing his own new home close to Christchurch, he decided to get hands-on and to conceive and build something very special.

For this unusual structure, he went all-in on pro clima’s EXTASANA ADHERO membrane and he was completely won over:
“ADHERO is quite amazing – the ability to stick on a building wrap just makes good sense. Piercing the building wrap with hundreds of staples, which you DON’T have to do with ADHERO, just seems stupid now. The pro clima gear is just good stuff. It works as it’s meant to and the place is bone dry. The shape of the building made it hard to get products that would do the job well and be cost-effective. Finally, we have a solution that works and we were free to install it over 180 days, which was gold!”

An exceptional weathering-protection membrane was needed for this out-of-the-ordinary curved roof: pro clima SOLITEX EXTASANA ADHERO proved relatively easy to install on this challenging geometry. In addition, it provides on-site weathering protection for up to 180 days in New Zealand.

Sheets of plywood serve as the roof decking. Lengths of pro clima SOLITEX EXTASANA ADHERO membrane were then stuck directly onto the plywood. The roof covering then provided the final layer of protection against wind and the elements.
