Renovation
and
extension
of
a
hospital
in
Dornach,
Switzerland
This 100-year-old hospital in Dornach, Switzerland was modernised as part of a refurbishment and extension project. The main challenge here was to preserve historical features and to integrate them into a more contemporary design, with the overarching aim of ensuring efficient running of a 21st-century hospital.
Stettler Architekten GmbH executed this project in two distinct construction phases: the extension building in 2019, and the renovation of the existing building in 2020. In this way, it was possible to keep the hospital open and operational during the building work.
- Year of construction: around 1922
- Location: Dornach, Switzerland
- Architects: Stettler Architekten GmbH
