For this project, the architect Pau Munar designed a four-storey urban residential building with a unique cork facade. This timber construction house was completed in 2020 and has a sleek, contemporary exterior that nonetheless fits in unobtrusively with its mature surroundings in Palma de Mallorca, the capital of the largest of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean. Climate-friendly materials and sustainability were important considerations in the planning and execution of this project. A cross-laminated timber (CLT) structure was chosen to achieve optimal results in terms of both noise insulation and the prevention of excessively warm indoor climates in summertime.

Despite its unconventional exterior appearance, the building nonetheless fits in well with the neighbouring buildings.
The CLT supporting structure, which can be seen here before the protective membranes and exterior cladding were fitted, is beneficial in terms of noise insulation and avoiding excessive indoor temperatures in summer.
The SOLITEX ADHERO covering provides comprehensive protection to the underlying structure against weathering, and also serves as temporary protection for the transition between the concrete floor slab and the CLT structure in the base area.
The cork facade was mounted onto the SOLITEX ADHERO on the exposed walls. The cork was then painted white for aesthetic reasons.
